FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

On Tuesday evening, October 14 Pam Pollock will be speaking on behalf of the AAUW Hingham Area Branch at the Hingham Public Library, 66 Leavitt St, at 7:00pm.  She will be speaking about advocating for one’s worth in the workplace.  Ms. Pollack will discuss strategies of negotiation as they pertain to communication style, salary requirements and other important workforce roles; job responsibilities, flex time/ work hours and child care.  It promises to be an empowering evening.

Pam Pollock is the Regional Resource Consultant for the 18 associations that make up the YWCAs New England Region and coordinates the 10 YWCAs in Massachusetts.  Previously she was Southeast Regional Director for the Massachusetts Society for the Prevention of Cruelty for Children and the Associate Executive Director of the YWCA of Southeastern Massachusetts.  Pam facilitates trainings in racial justice, financial literacy and women’s economic empowerment, advocacy and public policy, as well as Board Development and Strategic Planning sessions for the YWCA and nonprofit organizations in New England.

AAUW seeks and welcomes new members who hold an associate or equivalent, or baccalaureate or higher degree from a qualified educational institution. Undergraduates may join the branch as AAUW student affiliates. AAUW members believe in the power of education to change women’s lives. We also recognize that women’s education means not only attaining higher degrees. It also means becoming financially literate, daring to take risks to grow and learn throughout our lives, and helping others, both around us and far away from us, to reach their potential. For more information on the Hingham Area Branch please contact Patricia McKay 781-337-3375 . Prospective members are invited to attend all programs.
